Hall of Fame
Curtis Myden (BSc '99, MD '06) is the first swimmer and the first Olympic medallist to join the Dinos Hall of Fame. Myden reached the Olympic podium three times, winning bronze medals in the 200- and 400-metre individual medleys in Atlanta in 1996, followed by another bronze in the 400 IM in 2000 at Sydney. Those successes on the biggest stage of all came during and immediately after his time as a varsity athlete at the University of Calgary, where he shone in the pool and in the classroom. Myden was a four-time CIS Academic All-Canadian and was named the top male academic student-athlete in Canada West in both 1994 and 1999. He won multiple CIS gold medals during his career with the Dinos, winning the national title in 1997, and was the BLG Award winner as the top male athlete in CIS in 1997. A six-time Swimming Canada male athlete of the year, Myden received his MD in 2006 and is currently practicing medicine in Kelowna, B.C.
