Dinos Student-Athlete Registration & Eligibility Requirements

In order to finalize your eligibility for the upcoming season, the following requirements are required annually. You must confirm completion of these items in your AIMS registration (step 5 below), so it's helpful to complete this list in order and finish the required training in advance of your AIMS registration.

1. U SPORTS Acknowledgment & Consent

Log in to your U SPORTS Account, update your contact information, and complete the acknowledgment of U SPORTS regulations and consent to participate under U SPORTS Policies.

2. Sport Integrity Canada – Anti-Doping Course (formerly CCES)

  • Returning Student-Athletes & Staff: Log in to your existing account at the Sport Integrity Online Learning Portal to complete your courses.
  • New Student-Athletes: Create a new account using your UCalgary email address. Your username is the email address used to create the account – please do not sign up for a new account each time. Review the PDF invitation available through your coach for login and troubleshooting help.
Need help accessing your account? Email education@sportintegrity.ca.

3. Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Training

New in 2026, this mandatory annual training for all student-athletes is required through D2L. Training modules recognize the diversity of our experiences and provide common resources and information about what healthy, respectful interactions look like at the University of Calgary.

You will receive an email with access information mid-to-late August. It must be completed prior to October 1.

4. University of Calgary Risk Management & Facility Access Waiver

Required annually (June 1 – May 31). This waiver must be signed prior to training with your team, including summer training, preseason camps, or competitions. Signing this waiver allows access to university and Oval training facilities.

5. Complete Your AIMS Registration

The Dinos Athlete Information Management System (AIMS) is the final part of your eligibility and Dinos Registration. Through AIMS we track and monitor your ongoing eligibility requirements.

  1. Access the Dinos Athlete Portal.
  2. Select the "Create your Own Account" button on the home page.
  3. Enter your first and last name as you would on any document (please use proper capitalization) and your University of Calgary email address, then select "Create Account".
  4. From the main dashboard, select "Register for a team".
  5. Select the team(s) you are a part of and begin your registration.
  6. Complete all required information sections as comprehensively as possible – this helps our eligibility, student services, and marketing/communications staff.
  7. Read carefully and respond to all athlete agreements and consents.
  8. Once your registration is complete, Dinos Athletics staff will review it and begin the approval process for the upcoming season.

6. Varsity Athlete Medical Intake

The following must be complete before your medical intake with your team.

New Incoming Athletes
Returning Athletes
Open Tryout & Walk-on Athletes
  • Must produce an external medical completed by a physician or nurse practitioner before trying out for a varsity team.
  • Arrive at tryouts with the physical and emergency contact information noted above; this will be collected by medical staff on site.
  • Must submit proof of medical insurance — provincial health care numbers, or for international athletes, valid travel insurance, will be accepted.
All athletes need to bring their Provincial Health Care Number and UCalgary Student ID number to their medical intake.
