CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos football program had a strong presence at the 2025 Queen's University Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony Friday evening. A current and a past coach for the football team are part of the induction class.

Hall of fame induction ceremonies are nothing new for University of Calgary offensive line coach Pat Sheahan.
This will be the fifth hall of fame the 69-year-old Sheahan will enter, including three U SPORTS schools hall of fames. More about that later.
It will be an exciting but quick trip for Sheahan. He flew east Thursday, but will return Saturday morning to be on the sidelines for the Dinos' Canada West game against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at McMahon Stadium.
Pat was inducted into the Brockville High School Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Brockville Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
Sheahan was inducted into the McGill Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008 as part of the 1987 National Championship team which he served as offensive coordinator.
In 2016, Sheahan's 1993 Concordia University Stingers were inducted into the Concordia University Athletic Hall of Fame, for which Sheahan served as head coach. That team won its conference championship before losing to eventual Vanier Cup Champion University of Toronto Blues that edged the Dinos, capturing the National Championship.
Sheahan was the head coach of Queen's Gaels football team from 2000 to 2018. His 2009 team won the Vanier Cup, defeating Laval in the Uteck Bowl and the University of Calgary in the National Championship game, 33-31. He was inducted in the builder category. Sheahan has been part of Vanier Cup championship teams in three of four conferences in U SPORTS – his latest in 2019 with the Dinos as offensive coordinator.
Cam Innes, a former and respected University of Calgary assistant coach, is also being recognized.
Success is the word to describe Innes's involvement with the Dinos football program. Cam was the defensive coordinator on the Dinos' 1983 Vanier Cup team. Five years later, he was defensive secondary coach on the Dinos' 1988 National Championship team. Both years when Cam was involved with the program, Calgary finished as National Champions under legendary Hall of Fame coach Peter Connellan.
Innes played three seasons for Queen's (1968-70) and was their starting offensive center on the 1968 team that were National Champions. Innes is being inducted in the athlete category.
Innes was co-captain of the 1970 Vanier Cup Championship team at Queen's. He played three seasons at center for the Gaels and was their Rookie of the Year in 1968. He was drafted eighth overall by Edmonton in the 1971 Canadian Football League Draft.
The 78-year-old Innes graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Education degree and currently resides Sicamous, B.C.
This will be the second Hall of Fame for Innes, as he is the U of C Hall of Fame as part the 1983 Dinos Vanier Cup National Championship team.
"We congratulate Pat and Cam on their well-deserved inductions to the Queen's Football Hall of Fame," stated University of Calgary Athletic Director
Ben Matchett. "Both of them have made outstanding contributions to the sport of football across the country, with both playing key roles in Vanier Cup championships for the Dinos during their careers. We are proud to have them both as part of the Dinos family and join them in celebrating this outstanding recognition."
