University of Calgary Dinos Golf Team Tryouts – 2025/26 Season
Aspiring members of the Dinos Golf Team are invited to participate in the upcoming tryouts for the 2025 season. These tryouts will assess players' skills across a variety of challenges, including technical tests, short-game precision, and competitive rounds of golf. Below are the details for the tryout schedule and participation requirements.

Dates & Cost:
 Friday, August 29 – Saturday, August 31, 2025
 $250/player to cover green fees
Prerequisites:
 Men's Handicap Requirement: 4.0
 Women's Handicap Requirement: 10.0
Documents to Submit: 
Golf Experience and Achievements (preferably in Excel format) 
Work/Education resume

Waiver: 
Complete the online waiver prior to participation when you register.

Tryout Details: Day 1:
Friday, August 29, 2025
Location: Golf Fanatics
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Foresight GC4 Combine  A 20-minute GC4 test to evaluate swing metrics and ball-striking consistency.
Each participant will be assigned a specific start time (e.g., 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM).
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Putting Course Test 
Players will compete on the 18-hole putting course and submit gross score
1:00 PM Onwards:
Two 9-Hole Rounds (Par 3 Course)
Tee times begin at 1:00 PM. Players will complete two rounds of the challenging Par 3 course to test iron play, short game and course management.

Day 2:
Sunday, August 31, 2025
Location: Mickelson National
 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM: Tee Times for 18-Hole Stroke Play  Mens' Teebox: II  Womens' Teebox: V (Tee designation subject to final confirmation).
This round carries the most weight in the overall scoring system.
Players will demonstrate full-course skills, strategy, and mental focus under competitive conditions.
Pace of Play will be monitored and factored into the Coaches decisions. 

Scoring and Points Allocation:
 Points will be assigned for each segment of the tryouts, with the 18-hole round carrying the highest value.
 A detailed breakdown of the points system and scoring criteria will be shared with participants before the tryouts begin.
 Previous tournament scoring, education and work experience will also be strongly factored into the team selection. Participants should ensure they are prepared to perform across all facets of the game. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Dinos and compete at the university level.
