CALGARY – Sam McKeown of the University of Calgary Dinos golf team has been named the Canada West Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The award is the first for McKeown following his career-opening performance as a Dino.

McKeown claimed the University of Lethbridge Invitational title in a battle that went down to the wire, besting Alberta's Nick Mah by a single stroke for the individual title.

The first year Calgary product ended the event at -1, including finishing with a five stroke improvement during Monday's final round.

The Dinos are now set to host their annual home tournament, welcoming a number of programs to the McKenzie Meadows Golf Course, Sunday and Monday.
