LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – The University of Calgary Dinos men's golf team opened the 2025 season with a win, finishing one stroke ahead of Alberta to claim the opening Lethbridge Invitational Monday afternoon from Paradise Canyon Golf Club.
Sam McKeown led the way for the Dinos men, finishing as one of just two golfers all weekend to shoot under par with a -4 (67-71) for an individual silver medal in a strong start.
Sam Bratvold (+5-76-71) and
Adam Reed (+7-69-80) both had top-10 finishes to help power the team to the win.
On the women's side, Calgary finished runner-up to start the year. Rookie
Brooke Tombs claimed the bronze medal in her U SPORTS debut by shooting +19 (82-79). Teammate
Georgia Mackenzie was one stroke behind (83-79), while
Aubrie Shapkin,
Norah Andronyk and
Peyton Schmidt all tied for ninth in a solid team showing.
Calgary now returns home for its annual home tournament this weekend, hosted at the Springbank Links Golf Club starting Sunday.
