VICTORIA – The University of Calgary Dinos field hockey team fell 7-0 in their final game of the season against the Victoria Vikes at the UVic Field Hockey Turf.
Chloe Langkammer, Anna Mollenhauer, and Nora Struchtrup each found the back of the goal twice, while Melanie Robertson scored a single for Victoria.
The Dinos' best offensive attempts came during the second quarter, including a penalty corner chance developed by the strong play of
Abigail Fung. Calgary was held off the scoresheet and Daya Shields earned a shutout in the Vikes net.
Sunday's contest was the final game in the Scarlet & Gold for graduating players
Tiana Carroll,
Cindy Thai, and
Brooke Van Oosten.
The Canada West field hockey season concludes next weekend in Vancouver as the Vikes face the UBC Thunderbirds, Oct. 22-23.
