VANCOUVER – The UBC Thunderbirds secured a 1-0 shutout victory over the University of Calgary Dinos field hockey team in their home opener at Wright Field on a sunny Saturday afternoon in the first of a back-to-back series between the two Canada West squads.
T-Bird goalkeeper Hannah Rumble earned her third shutout of the season while midfielder Miranda Yee scored the game-winning goal for the 'Birds in the 10th minute of play – her first of the 2022 campaign for the blue and gold.
The two teams will square off for the final time in the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 12 p.m. MT on Wright Field.
