CALGARY - With all the Dinos' past success in the regular season and with their most recent visit to the University Cup, it's no surprise that the newest seniors from the program are also doing well.
Kodie Curran | Defenceman | Hartford Wolfpack (AHL) The two-time first team Canada West all-star,
Kodie Curran will be playing for the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League, the New York Rangers American affiliated team.
"Having finished last year with Hartford, the CIS helps develop you for the transition to the A because you play with men, and you train like a pro, you play a similar schedule," explained Curran. "What the CIS and what the Dinos program does for you over the period of time you're with them helps make you a stronger player, it matures you as a player and a person; making the transition smooth."
In Curran's final season as a Dino he led all Canada West defencemen in goals (eight), assists (16), and points (24) and was second on the team in points. Curran attended the Tampa Bay Lightning's main camp in 2014. Over his CIS career he played in 96 games; collecting 17 goals, 72 assists for 89 points and finished with an impressive +35 rating.
"I took the CIS as a stepping stone to where I wanted to be. I worked hard everyday with the coaches and my teammates as well as in conjunction with the University itself; it gave me the opportunity to further my career. My five years as a Dino were awesome."
Jacob DeSerres | Goaltender | Colorado Eagles (ECHL) Calgary's starting goaltender,
Jacob DeSerres has signed with the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.
"The culture and people in Colorado are similar to the Dinos, it made it more appealing. I learned a lot with the Dinos including a really good work ethic which I plan to mentally take with me to Colorado," stated DeSerres.
DeSerres was a key component in the Dinos' past success, in the 2014-2015 season he recorded 11 wins in 15 games; setting career-lows with a 2.07 goals against average and 0.920 save percentage. In 48 career CIS games, he registered 32 wins, posting seven shutouts in 2766 minutes played.
"The Dinos program is continuously evolving; I knew coming in it was already good and only going to get better," explained DeSerres. "I'm very happy I came and got to experience these last four years. It was nice to a part of such a great program, I have all this support and the relationships I've developed over the past four years are tremendous for my life."
Colton Grant | Forward | Dinos Assistant Coach Having completed all five years of his eligibility with the Dinos,

Grant finished his CIS career with 138 games played, notching 11 goals and 24 assists for 35 points.
Kris Lazaruk | Goaltender | Colorado Eagles (ECHL) The other half of the Dinos starting-goaltender-duo,
Kris Lazaruk has signed a try-out contract with the Colorado Eagles of the ECHL.
"Being with the same team for the past five years at the University of Calgary, you develop your skills and relationships. I was fortunate to have great goalie coaching available to me with the Dinos, it definitely helped with the jump to the ECHL," shared Lazaruk.
In Lazaruk's final season as a Dino he set a new Canada West shutout streak of 275:03 minutes, helping propel Calgary to a 20-8 record. Lazaruk had the lowest goals against average in the country at 1.67 and the second lowest save percentage with 0.938 that helped earn him the top goaltending award from Canada West for the 2014-15 season. In the previous season he set a career low of 2 regulation losses. Lazaruk completes his CIS career with 43 games played, accumulating 23 wins with 4 shutouts in 2305 minutes played.
"The whole culture of the U of C and the city is so appealing. I call Calgary home now and I'm originally from Edmonton," explained Lazaruk. "The comraderie that the Dinos culture has and its' atmosphere just made it such an appealing school, I enjoyed my time here as a Dino."
Walker Wintoneak | Forward | Indy Fury (ECHL) Dinos five-year veteran forward
Walker Wintoneak will be heading to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL for the 2015-2016 season. Despite being injured for the majority of the 2014-15 season; Walker was still a key component of the Dinos dressing room, attributing two points in the play-offs, scoring in the third game of semi-finals against Mount Royal. In the 2013-2014 season Wintoneak finished fifth on the team in points with 27 and second on the team in goals with 16. This will not be Wintoneak's first time attending an ECHL camp, having done so in 2010 before signing in the CHL with the Missouri Mavericks.
