Captain Kydd signs first pro deal with Cincinnati Cyclones

CALGARY – University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey captain Adam Kydd has signed his first professional contract.

Kydd, who is set to graduate from the Haskayne School of Business in just three years, was announced as the newest member of the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday.

The Regina native had a breakout 2025-26 season. A year after playing only 11 games due to injury, Kydd opened the season with six points in the first series and 17 points in the opening month.

He finished the regular season with 33 assists, the most in all of U SPORTS and tied for sixth in program history. His 41 total points ranked second in Canada West and fourth nationally.

Kydd earned recognition throughout the season, including being named WHL Grad of the Month in October. He was also this year's recipient of the UBC Hockey Alumni Trophy for sportsmanship and skill.

In total, Kydd played 62 regular-season games for the Dinos, compiling 19 goals and 49 assists for 68 points. He also suited up in 14 post-season games, scoring three goals and five assists for eight points.

The Cyclones play in the ECHL's Central Division and currently hold a 26-26-3-0 record. Kydd could make his debut on Friday, Mar. 13, against the Iowa Heartlanders, who feature his former Dinos teammate Max Patterson.
