HALIFAX – University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey captain
Adam Kydd was named a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian on Thursday at the All-Canadian Breakfast in Halifax.
Kydd recently completed his third and final season with the Dinos and is set to graduate from the Haskayne School of Business. He becomes the fourth Calgary skater to earn All-Canadian honours since 2023.
The Regina native put together a breakout campaign in 2025-26. After appearing in just 11 games the previous season due to injury, Kydd opened the year with six points in the first series and recorded 17 points during the opening month. He finished the regular season with 33 assists, the highest total in U SPORTS and tied for sixth-most in program history. His 41 points ranked second in Canada West and fourth nationally.
Kydd also received the UBC Hockey Alumni Trophy, awarded annually for sportsmanship and skill.
Earlier this month, Kydd signed a professional contract with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones. In his debut with the club, he recorded a goal and an assist.
At the national awards ceremony, Moncton Aigles Bleus forward Mika Cyr was named the recipient of the Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy as U SPORTS men's hockey Player of the Year. Saskatchewan forward Conner Roulette earned the Clare Drake Award as Rookie of the Year.
Concordia defenceman Simon Lavigne was named Defenceman of the Year, while Acadia goaltender Thomas Couture earned Goaltender of the Year honours. Alberta defenceman Blake Gustafson received the Dr. Randy Gregg Award for Student-Athlete Community Service, and UQTR centre Conor Frenette captured the R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award as Most Sportsmanlike Player. Moncton head coach Derek Cormier was named Fox 40 Coach of the Year, receiving the Father George Kehoe Memorial Award.
