CALGARY – The University of Calgary has been named host of the 2027 U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship, set for Nov. 11-14 at McMahon Stadium.

It will be the first time the national women's soccer championship has been held at UCalgary, bringing the country's top university women's soccer teams to Calgary for four days of championship competition.

"Together with our partners at Tourism Calgary, we are excited to bring the U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship to Calgary," said UCalgary Director of Athletics Ben Matchett. "We look forward to showcasing some of Canada's best student-athletes in a professional setting at McMahon Stadium, with Calgary's renowned hospitality. Our team is ready to deliver an outstanding event, and we appreciate the trust U SPORTS has placed in us."

The Dinos have extensive experience hosting U SPORTS national championships, including the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Basketball Final 8 at Jack Simpson Gym. UCalgary will also host the 2027 U SPORTS Swimming Championships and co-host the 2027 U SPORTS/Curling Canada Championships.

The Dinos have a strong history in U SPORTS women's soccer, winning their only national championship in 1998 with a 3-2 win over host Victoria in the final. Calgary returned to the national championship game in 2019, finishing as silver medallists.

In 2025, the Dinos captured the Canada West Prairie Division title and closed the season with a conference bronze medal. Six Dinos earned Canada West postseason honours, tying a program record. So far in 2026, the Dinos are undefeated through four games and are ranked fourth in the nation.

The 2027 U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship is part of the 2027-28 U SPORTS national championship calendar and will run alongside the 2027 U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship, hosted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton, also Nov. 11-14.
