Dinos split Saturday Double Header with PBA

Clinch spot in CCBC championship tournament.

In what was supposed to be the Dinos final home games of the 2026 CCBC regular season and recognition for the team's graduating seniors, Calgary weather again forced the Dinos to travel to Lethbridge to play a two game series with the PBA Dawgs. Coming into the final weekend of the CCBC regular season the Dinos find themselves needing two games to clinch their spot in the upcoming league championship. A combination of a Dinos win and a UBC loss would punch the Dinos ticket. Dinos come up big in game 1 vs PBA as 5th year starting pitcher Ethan Webster dominates in a shortened 7 inning masterpiece. On the West coast the Victoria Collegiate Golden Hawks take down UBC, eliminating the Vancouver team from the championship tournament.

Game 1 Summary Dinos 15 vs Dawgs 1
5th year starter Ethan Webster pitches a complete 7 inning game as he picks up his third win of the season. Facing a strong offensive team, with the Dawgs having a number of players in the CCBC top 5 in average, home runs and RBI's, Webster, in his final CCBC regular season start shuts the Dawgs down surrendering one run on six hits while striking out 11. With the 11 strikeouts Webster leads the CCBC with 65 strikeouts on the season.
Offensively the Dinos were led by right fielder Jacob Carlson who went 5 for 5 at the plate scoring 1 run and plating 5 RBI, while adding a stolen base. Carlson raised his season batting average to .435 good for second in the CCBC.
As a team the Dinos scored 15 runs on 15 hits and 11 RBI. Mason Bristow added three RBI and second baseman Tyler Armstrong went 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 runs scored and an RBI, raising his average to .349 on the season.

Game 2 Summary Dinos 9 vs Dawgs 17
Dinos starter Dylan McCuaig struggles as he cannot get out of the third inning as he takes the loss giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits and recording 4 strikeouts. As a team the Dinos send six pitchers to the mound, giving up 17 runs on 15 hits while walking 12.
Davis Lee and Drew Schnell each pitch a no hit inning in relief.
Offensively the Dinos have fourteen hits as a team and are led by first baseman substitute Alex Cooney who connects on a grand slam home run in the 8th inning.

Dinos will travel to Re/Max field in Edmonton on Sunday for their final two games against the Collegiate Hawks as they get ready for league championships being hosted in Lethbridge.
Dinos will have their senior recognition on Monday at 1pm at Absolute.
