Dinos baseball hosted the visiting UFV Cascades for four games scheduled at Foothills Park. Calgary weather and the field being unplayable on the weekend forced the games to be played on Monday and Tuesday.. Teams faced some strong weather with winds gusting at times over the two days of competition with the visiting Cascades taking three of the four games. With the losses the Dinos drop in the CCBC standings where they find themselves in a must win scenario next weekend as they will host the VIU Mariners.

Game 1 Summary    Dinos 3 vs Cascades 18
Dinos starter Ethan Webster took the loss as he went 5 innins giving up 5 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out four. Dinos send 5 pitchers to the mound in relief where they surrendered 14 runs (6 earned). Dinos had a rough day in the field as they commit 6 errors.
Offensively Jacob Carlson led the Dinos as he went 2 for 5 at the plate and cashed in two RBI.

Game 2 Summary    Dinos 11 vs Cascades 6
Game 2 on Monday finds starting pitcher Colin Baxter goes a strong 5 innings surrendering just 2 earned runs. Relief pitcher Ben Foreman closes the game pitching the remaining 4 innings as he picks up the win.
Offensively the Dinos bats are more active with a number of Dinos having memorable days as they combine for 11 hits and 10 RBI as they score 11 runs.

Game 3 Summary     Dinos 2 vs Cascades 6
Riley Burns takes the mound in the first game on Tuesday. Burns goes 5.2 innings giving up 8 hits and 3 earned runs as he records the loss. Dylan McCuaig pitches three strong scoreless innings in relief as he records two strikeouts. 
Unfortunately the Dinos are not able to score more than two runs as they record 8 hits and 12 strikeouts.
Jacob Carlosn and Ben Hul both go 2 for 3 at the plare with Hul getting an RBI.

Game 4 Summary    Dinos 3 vs Cascades 13
Davis Lee takes the mound as the Dinos look to split the series with UFV. Lee is only able to go 3.2 innings as he only gives up 3 hits, but 5 earned runs as he walks 5 and records 4 strikeouts. Game goes 7 innings as Dinos are unable to stop the Cascades bats from adding to their total.
Offensively Aiden Szautner leads the Dinos going 2 for 2 at the plate and scoring one run.
As a team the Dinos record seven hits and 8 walks while striking out 5 times. Dinos leave 14 on base during the game.

Up next for Dinos is VIU as they come to Calgary for four games and Dinos look to win their second series of the season.
