Markham, Ont. – The University of Calgary Dinos added three more medals Friday at the 2026 U SPORTS Swimming Championships at the Markham Pan Am Centre.
Alexanne Lepage led the way with gold in the women's 200-metre breaststroke and later helped Calgary earn silver in the women's 4x200-metre freestyle relay.
Ian Cameron also reached the podium, claiming bronze in the men's 200-metre individual medley.
Lepage controlled the women's 200-metre breaststroke from the start. After two lengths of the pool, she had opened nearly a one-second lead on the field. The gap continued to grow as Lepage touched the wall in 2:20.89, more than five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Cameron delivered a strong swim in the men's 200-metre individual medley to earn his second medal of the championships. The Sherwood Park, Alta. native put himself in contention during the butterfly leg and climbed into second place during the breaststroke. The field closed the gap in the freestyle, but Cameron held on for bronze. He touched the wall alongside Andrew Coombs of the UBC Thunderbirds in an identical time of 1:58.77.
Two close finishes saw the Dinos just miss the podium despite solid swims.
Aiden Gyorfi placed fourth in the men's 400-metre freestyle, while
Sarah Haugen finished fourth in the women's 200-metre individual medley.
Calgary secured its second relay medal of the meet in the women's 4x200-metre freestyle. The team of
Emily De Jager, Haugen,
Myriam Hickey and Lepage finished in 8:04.16, touching the wall ahead of the McGill Martlets and Toronto Varsity Blues to claim silver.
Through two days of competition, Calgary sits third in the men's standings and fourth in the women's standings.
