CALGARY – The University of Calgary has been named host of the 2027 U SPORTS Swimming Championships, set for March 4-6 at the MNP Community & Sport Centre.

It marks the fourth time the Dinos have hosted the national swimming championships and the first since 2013.

"Together with our partners at Tourism Calgary and the MNP Community & Sport Centre, we're very proud to bring the 2027 U SPORTS Swimming Championships to our city," said UCalgary Director of Athletics Ben Matchett. "It will be an outstanding opportunity for our student-athletes to compete at home while we showcase our city and the recent renovations at the MNP Centre to the rest of the country."

The Dinos have a storied history in U SPORTS swimming, winning 18 national team titles – three women's and 15 men's – since 1980, including both championships at home in 2011.

"We were impressed by the quality of the recent U SPORTS Final 8 men's basketball championship at the University of Calgary, and we know the Dinos Athletics team will host an exceptional event for U SPORTS swimmers in March," said U SPORTS chief sport officer Matthew Davies.

The swimming championships are the second national event awarded to UCalgary for the 2026-27 season, joining the 2027 U SPORTS Canadian University and Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) curling championships, which the Dinos will co-host alongside the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology from Feb. 22-26 at the Calgary Curling Club.
