CALGARY – Three members of the University of Calgary Dinos field hockey team have been selected by Field Hockey Canada to represent their country on the world stage.

Kristen Nyrose and Victoria Zaccagnini will join the senior women's indoor team in Mt. Olive, N.J., for the annual CanAm Indoor Hockey Series. Maia McGillivray has been named to the junior women's national team roster for the 2026 Junior Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile.

"It is always an honour for athletes to be chosen to represent their country, and we are thrilled to see Kristen, Victoria and Maia selected for international competitions," said Dinos head coach Jenn Beagan. "This is confirmation of the incredible hard work and dedication they put in on and off the field day in and day out."

All three athletes are local products and part of an emerging young core for the Dinos.

"The Dinos field hockey program has a strong history of athletes competing for Canada, including many Olympians within our alumni network, and more recent national team appointments including Isabella Green and Melanie Scholz, who have competed in Junior World Cups over the past few years," Beagan said. "As this program continues to strive for excellence, I have no doubt this tradition will continue with more Dinos representing Calgary internationally."

The CanAm Indoor Hockey Series runs March 14-15.

The 2026 Junior Pan American Championships take place April 6-18. The tournament features a single-pool round robin followed by medal rounds, with Canada set to face Argentina, the United States, Uruguay, Chile and Mexico.
