Dinos win bronze at University Challenge Cup!

CALGARY – The Calgary Dinos were hard at work this holiday season, traveling to Guelph to compete in the 2025-26 University Challenge Cup. Over the nine-game tournament, the Dinos continued their streak of competing in the championship pool, finishing the round-robin with a 2-2-0 record. They followed this with a 2-1-1 performance to qualify for the bronze medal game, falling just short of gold medal contention after a series of mini-games and a hard-fought shootout loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The Dinos bounced back strong, earning a 7-4 victory over the Regina Cougars to secure the bronze medal.

Following this success, the Dinos look to carry their momentum into the regular season as they battle for a spot at provincials, hosted in Airdrie from March 6-8. Before then, the action continues as the Dinos host a hub weekend from February 19-22. Fans can expect exciting matchups against familiar UCC rivals, including the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, University of Lethbridge, University of Victoria, and Calgary U19 AA.
