The New Year officially kicks off this weekend for Dinos Athletics as the track & field program heads north for the GBP Preview meet in Edmonton. The meet - the first of three hosted by the University of Alberta this season - is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. inside the Butterdome.
This will mark the first full meet for the Dinos this season. The team officially got the season started with the home Dino Opener back in early December, featuring almost entirely track events. This time out, Calgary will athletes to compete across 15 total events in the one-day meet coming out of the winter break.
The Dinos will return to the Butterdome two more times this season (Jan. 16-17 & Feb. 6-7) while also making a trip to Saskatoon next weekend for the Sanderson Classic. The lone additional home meet still on the schedule comes Jan. 25 with the return of the annual Dinos Classic.
