Dinos Fastball Week 5 WCSA

Game 1 vs University of Regina 
Gabriela Coderre collected three hits in four at bats, as Dinos defeated University of Regina 10-3 on Saturday at Douglas Park in Regina. Coderre hit a solo home run to left field in the sixth inning, doubled in the third inning, and doubled in the second inning. 
Dinos won thanks in part to six runs in the third inning.  Chloe Maher singled, scoring two runs, Coderre doubled, scoring one run, Mia Pielak doubled, scoring two runs, and Chloe Kinghorn tripled, scoring one run. 
Hallie Miller homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the fifth for the University of Calgary.  
University of Calgary scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Coderre. 
Madison Belden earned the win for the team, the  right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one.  
University of Calgary accumulated 12 hits in the game. Miller led the team with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Pielak collected two hits for University of Calgary in four at bats.
 
Game 2 vs University of Lethbridge  
Katie Berg collected four hits in four at bats to lead the team to a 9-3 victory over the University of Lethbridge on Saturday. Berg singled in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings.  
University of Calgary got on the board in the first inning after Gabriela Coderre singled, scoring one run. The Dinos added two runs in the second. Emily Friedt doubled, making the score 3-0. 
Mia Pielak earned the win for the team, the pitcher gave up six hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none. Anna Forbes started in the circle, the righty allowed three hits and two runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. 
The Dinos piled up 13 hits in the game. Friedt went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Pielak and Chloe Kinghorn each collected multiple hits.
 
Game 3 vs University of Saskatchewan  
The Dinos couldn't keep up with University of Saskatchewan and fell 11-0 on Saturday at Douglas Park in Regina. 
University of Saskatchewan jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, and Makenna Pilbeam doubled, scoring two runs. University of Saskatchewan added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Emma Maurice singled, and Devyn McLean walked, each scoring one run. 
University of Saskatchewan scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Kate Gross induced McLean to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Taryn Moehler doubled, scoring two runs, and Pilbeam singled, scoring two runs. 
Alexis Luttmerding took the loss for the Dinos, the starter went two and one-third innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking two. 
Hallie Miller went 2-for-2 at the plate to leading the team in hits.
 
 
Game 4 vs Uof Regina 
Gabriela Coderre continued her torrid offensive season as she drove in four runs on three hits to lead University of Calgary past University of Regina 11-4 on Sunday. Coderre hit a home run to left field in the first scoring two, singled in the third scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one. The team jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after McKenna Regier singled, scoring one run, and Coderre homered to left field, scoring two runs. 
The Dinos added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Coderre singled, Mia Pielak singled, Hallie Miller singled, and Katie Berg walked, each scoring one run. 
Anna Forbes earned the win for the Dinos, the right hander gave up three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Pielak appeared in relief for University of Calgary. 
The Dinos amassed 14 hits in the game. Chloe Maher, Miller, Berg, and Regier each collected multiple hits.
 
Game 5 vs U of Lethbridge 
Sunday's game against University of Lethbridge was a heartbreaker for the Dinos  as they lost the lead late in a 4-2 defeat. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Sage Haakenson singled, scoring two runs. 
The team got on the board in the first inning after Gabriela Coderre singled, scoring one run. The Dinos took the lead in the top of the fourth. Hallie Miller hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to get the upper hand, 2-1. 
University of Lethbridge took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Penner, and Haakenson. 
Mia Pielak took the loss, the reliever went one inning, giving up three runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking none. Madison Belden opened the game, the right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking none.  
Miller led the team with one run batted in. Chloe Maher went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
