CALGARY – Fresh off their bye week, the University of Calgary Dinos football team (0-5) will head north for a matchup with the Alberta Golden Bears (2-3) at Commonwealth Stadium.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. MT on Saturday, where the Dinos will look to even up the season series with the Bears. The game will be streamed on Canada West TV.

- The two squads faced off earlier this season – a 34-23 win for the Bears back in Week 3.
- Last season, the provincial rivals faced off just once in the shortened 2021 campaign – a 36-30 win for the Bears.
- Calgary has won seven of the last 10 matchups between the two Alberta schools.
- Earlier this season, the game was a tale of two halves. Alberta led the Dinos 33-8 after the opening half, before Calgary closed things out strong, outscoring the Bears 15-1 in the final two quarters.
- The Bears sit right in the middle of a crowded Canada West, as they are one of three teams currently with a 2-3 record.
- Alberta will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak, with their last win coming back against the Dinos in Week 3.

- The Dinos' offence will look to feed running back Mattieu Clarke and hope he can continue to come on strong late in the season after the first-year exploded for 204 yards on 18 attempts against UBC in their Week 5 matchup.
- Calgary is sure glad to have Matthew Lucyshyn back in the lineup, as the fifth-year defender not only picked up seven-and-a-half tackles but also intercepted two UBC passes, bringing one back for a 58-yard touchdown.
- Quarterback Daniel Sananes will look to build off an efficient performance against the Thunderbirds where he finished with 17 completions for 197 yards and two touchdowns.
- Sananes and receiver Dante Carbone had a great connection going against UBC. Carbone finished with 101 yards on six catches including one score, something he will hope to continue against Alberta.
- Dinos punter Chris MacLean is averaging 48.6 yards per punt, which is the best in the country. He also had a season-long 75-yard punt against the Thunderbirds.
- Next weekend, the Dinos will return to McMahon for their final home game of the season when they host the Regina Rams.

- Calgary will have its hands full with Kolby Hurford, who currently leads the Canada West in most major receiving categories. The second-year receiver leads the conference in yards (416), touchdowns (6) and average yards per catch (27.7).
- Bears quarterback Eli Hetlinger is currently averaging 279.2 yards per game, which is good enough for third-most in all of U SPORTS.
- Jaxon Hume is a dangerous return man for the Bears, as he currently is averaging 143 all-purpose yards per game – the best in the conference.
- Defensive back Jonathan Giustini is making the lives of opposing offences quite difficult this season. He currently leads the conference in pass breakups with five, while also adding one interception to his impressive campaign.
- Week 7 will see the Bears head to Manitoba for a date with the Bisons.
