CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team (6-8-0-0) returns to home ice for the first time since November as they host the UBC Thunderbirds (9-3-0-0).
The first of the two contests will be on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m., with the rematch taking place on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. at Father David Bauer Arena. The series was originally scheduled for last weekend but was rescheduled due to COVID-19 related protocol and travel restrictions.
OPENING WEEKEND SUCCESS
The Dinos had a fantastic return to the ice, starting the second half of the season on a high note. Several players made it onto the scoreboard multiple times to secure a weekend sweep over the Trinity Western Spartans in Langley. Team captain
Rachel Paul led the way with two goals and two assists.

Elizabeth Lang and
Alli Borrow have been leading the Calgary offence this year, with both ranking in the top 10 in Canada West scoring. Borrow is in her first year with the Dinos, after transferring from the University of Lethbridge, and is one pace to have her most successful season, already tallying 12 points on the year – just two shy of her previous career-high.
TIGHT BATTLE
Calgary is currently in a three-way tie for 6th place and the last playoff position with the MacEwan Griffins and Regina Cougars. With only six games remaining in this shortened season, every point is vital to maintain position for the Dinos.

Following this weekend's games, the Dinos will face off against the Mount Royal Cougars in a home-and-home set on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Father David Bauer Arena, with the rematch set for Saturday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at the Flames Community Arenas.
