Bring on the Pandas

CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team is coming off a tough sweep at the hands of the Saskatchewan Huskies last weekend. The team will look to bounce back this weekend against another tough opponent in the league-leading Alberta Pandas.

The action gets going Friday at Father David Bauer Arena with puck drop set for 7 p.m. The two teams will head up to Edmonton on Saturday for the second game of the set, also scheduled for 7 p.m.

SASKATCHEWAN SETBACK
Despite two more sterling performances by Kelsey Roberts, who allowed just one goal against in 130 minutes of game time, the Dinos fell to the Saskatchewan Huskies in two 1-0 games (one shootout, one regulation) last week to fall out of first place in Canada West. They have the change to reclaim the pole position this weekend as they face the league-leading Alberta Pandas.

STAYING WITH IT
Despite the recent lack of scoring for the Dinos, the team has proved that they are a brand new team this year with two players (Elizabeth Lang, Sara Craven) sitting in the top ten in Canada West scoring.

BATTLE OF ALBERTA
The last time these two teams met, Calgary game away with a sweep of one of the country's strongest teams. The Dinos proved their offensive talent over the two game set potting seven goals against the top two goaltenders in Canada West.
