CALGARY – Danica Ludlow will have some addition weight in her luggage coming home from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
The University of Calgary Dinos swimmer picked up her second medal of the Games on Friday, earning silver in women's 4X200 free. Ludlow was teamed up with Alyson Ackman of Pointe-Claire, Que., Katerine Savard of Pont-Rouge, Que., and Mary-Sophie Harvey of Trois-Rivieres, Que and finished behind the Americans with a time of 7:59.16.
A fourth-year Cumming School of Medicine student, Ludlow opened the Pan Am swimming competition with a silver medal in the women's 400-metre freestyle on Tuesday.
Ludlow missed the Canada West Championships this past season before winning a U SPORTS bronze medal in the women's 4 x 200-metre free relay. She was the Female Swimmer of the Meet at the 2017 Canada West Championships.
The Dinos contributed to three of the medals won by Team Canada at Lima. In addition to the two medals by Ludlow, former Dinos wrestling and rugby star Temitope Ogunjimi won a gold medal with the Canadian rugby sevens team.
