Sinagra's stock rises

CALGARY – With a Vanier Cup having completed his impressive university football resume, Dinos quarterback Adam Sinagra moved up four spots in the December Scouting Bureau rankings released by the Canadian Football League Tuesday.

Sinagra, named MVP of the Vanier Cup last month in Quebec City after leading the Dinos to their fifth national title with a 27-13 win over Montreal, is the only U SPORTS quarterback on the 20-player list, moving up from the 18th position he held in the preseason rankings.

FULL CFL SCOUTING RANKINGS – December 2019

The 24-year-old native of Pointe-Claire, Que. was the 2018 Hec Crighton Trophy winner as the top player in U SPORTS football, setting a single-season passing record of 3,233 yards. In 2019, his numbers went down as the offence became more balanced and he battled injury, but he still managed to lead the league in completion percentage and touchdowns, finishing second with 2,014 yards in just seven games. In the playoffs, he scored the game-winning touchdown in the semifinal against Manitoba and threw an impressive 78.6 per cent in the Vanier Cup as the Dinos snapped a 24-year championship drought.

Sinagra completes his career as the No. 2 passer in program history, throwing for 8,354 yards in four seasons, adding 60 touchdowns to his stat line.

Having attended both the Calgary Stampeders' and Edmonton Eskimos' camps over the past two seasons as part of the CFL's quarterback internship program, Sinagra heads into this spring's Canadian Draft looking to see his name on the board and head to a third straight training camp – this time to fight for a roster spot.

The 2020 CFL Draft takes place April 30.

The CFL Scouting Bureau, comprised of CFL scouts, as well as, player personnel directors and general managers from the league's nine member clubs, releases its rankings three times each year in September, December and April.
