CALGARY – It has been two weeks since the University of Calgary Dinos swept the Alberta Pandas – now rested – the team prepares to take on another rival, the Mount Royal Cougars.
The action begins on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Father David Bauer Arena, followed by the rematch on Friday Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. from Flames Community Arenas.
GETTING OFFENCE BACK
During their two-game sweep of the Alberta Pandas two weeks ago, the Dinos scored a season-high seven goals. It was a much-needed outpouring of offence for Calgary who had previously tallied just three goals in four games.
Sara Craven leads the team with eight points (3g, 5a) in 10 games.
'DOME PREVIEW
This weekend's matchup offers a preview of the Dinos and Cougars' highly anticipated meeting at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday, Jan. 30. The Dinos and Cougars women's teams will be playing in the primetime slot, scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop. Calgary won three of the four regular-season games against the Cougars in 2018-19.
FIRST AS A DINO
A pair of Dinos scored their first career university goals versus Alberta. First-year forward
Rebecca Clarke found the back of the net in both games with Alberta, including an empty net in the second meeting. The wait was a little longer for
Brooke Dennett, who scored her first goal in her 38th game with the Dinos. Last season Dennett picked up two assists in 28 contests.
