Red-hot Dinos host Pronghorns at McMahon

CALGARY – Returning home following a pair of massive road wins, the No. 5 University of Calgary Dinos women's rugby team will play the Lethbridge Pronghorns in their final home game of the season.

The game will be played at McMahon Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 30 with an 11:45 a.m. kickoff.

ROAD WARRIORS
The two-time defending Canada West champion Dinos continued their unbeatable regular season by winning their 17th and 18th consecutive games over the weekend against the Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds. The last Canada West team to beat the Dinos was the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Oct. 23, 2015 in the Canada West semifinal. Calgary's last loss in the regular season came back on Sept. 19, 2014 when they fell 24-19 in Vancouver to the UBC Thunderbirds.

THE PILLAGE IN VICTORIA
The Dinos beat the Victoria Vikes 38-22 at Wallace field last Friday. Calgary jumped out to a 31-3 lead at halftime with Taejah Thompson scoring three of her four tries in the opening half. Elysa Sandron was successful on four conversions.

SECOND-HALF SURGE
In a matchup of undefeated teams, the Dinos came away with a 36-21 win over the UBC Thunderbirds on Sunday at Gerald McGavin UBC Rugby Centre. Calgary found themselves trailing 21-12 at halftime but scored 24 unanswered points in the final 40 minutes.

QUOTABLE
Taejah Thompson was named the Canada West First Star of the Week following her six-try weekend. When asked about his second-year wing, head coach Simon Chi was very complimentary.

"She is playing with a lot of confidence right now, you can see how dynamic and dangerous she can be on the field."
