CALGARY – Amber Quo of the University of Calgary Dinos has been named Canada West Rugby Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

The Lethbridge, Alta. product delivered a dramatic, match-winning moment for her side. As the Dinos found themselves trailing 13-12 following a Kiera Skrenek drop goal with three minutes to go, Calgary needed a reply. The Dinos drove down the pitch and moved the ball out wide deep in Alberta's 22 line, Quo stepped up and crossed the try line to score the winning try in the final seconds to secure a 17-13 victory over the University of Alberta Pandas — Calgary's first win since 2022.

The result improved the Dinos to 1-3 on the season and marks the first time the Quo has been named the Canada West Athlete of the Week.

The Dinos resume action at McMahon Stadium this Sunday, October 4 against the Victoria Vikes, with a kick-off of 2:30 PM.
