Dinos scoreless against Vikes

| By:
CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos were unable to capture their first win of the season on Sunday after they were defeated by the Victoria Vikes for the second time this weekend in a 2-0 game.
Kathleen Leahy was the first to get on the scoreboard, followed by Amanda Kurianowicz's second of the weekend.
Early in the first half, the Vikes domination of apparent as most of the action was found in the Dinos end of the pitch. However, Calgary goalkeeper Stephanie Petrowitch, along with some great defence from the Dinos, allowed for them to stay in the game. The half ended scoreless.
In the second, the Vikes got on the board with a goal from Leahy. The second-year defender netted her first of the season for the go ahead goal. Later in the half, Petrowitch continued to play a great game for the Dinos, making some huge stops on a couple of strokes.
It took until the 61st minute for Victoria to get the second goal of the game for the cushion, this time coming from second-year midfielder Kurianowicz with a great shot to beat Petrowitch.
The Dinos will have a week off before hosting the Thunderbirds on Oct. 5-6. Next week the Vikes take on the UBC Thunderbirds on their home turf.
