BOX SCORE SASKATOON - University of Calgary defenceman
Stephanie Ramsay tallied 2:54 into overtime to give the Dinos a 4-3 win over the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday night at Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.
Ramsay scored the game-winner after walking in from the blueline to take her shot beating rookie Huskie netminder Cassidy Hendricks in the top corner.
With the win the No. 2 ranked Dinos improve to 9-2-1, while the Huskies drop to 3-6-3. A night earlier, the Huskies won 2-1.
After Calgary captain
Tanya Morgan gave the Dinos a 3-1 lead at 6:49 in the third period, Saskatchewan answered with two goals. Shelby Davey scored at 8:06 on the power play to pull within one. Huskie captain Cara Wooster tied the game at 16:58.
The rest of the scoring in the game came in the first period.
Two quick power play goals had put Calgary in front.
Calaine Inglis tallied the first at 12:36 on a five-on-three.
Erin Davidson added the second goal at 13:04. Fifth-year Danny Stone cut Calgary's lead in half at 17:08 in the first period.
Jennifer Mallard made 24 saves before being replaced by
Amanda Tapp for the third period. Tapp made nine saves in her 22:54 of play. Hendricks made 44 saves in the loss for the Huskies.
The Huskies travel to meet the Lethbridge Pronghorns next weekend, while Calgary faces the Mount Royal Cougars.
