George's trick upends Dinos

| By:
SASKATOON - Reigning Canada West MVP Breanne George led the University of Saskatchewan Huskies netting all three goals in a 3-1 victory over the visiting University of Calgary Dinos Friday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.

BOX SCORE

The fourth-year forward netted her goals at 2:14 and 19:47 in the second and 6:32 in the third for the hat trick. All three were scored even strength. Cara Wooster and Julie Paetsch assisted on all three George goals.

With the win, the Huskies move to 5-2 in the standings, while No. 6 ranked Calgary drops to 6-3. The Huskies are undefeated against the Dinos since Calgary returned to the league last season.

George was sent in alone on a breakaway on her first goal of the night sending the puck into the net through Calgary goaltender Amanda Tapp's five-hole. With 13 seconds left in the second period, George netted her second on a scramble in front of the net. The final goal was on a tip in on a Wooster shot.

Calgary attempted to get back in the game with a Tanya Morgan goal at 8:07 in third period. But the lone goal was all the Dinos could muster.

Tapp made 30 saves for the Dinos, while Huskie netminder Mackenzie Rizos made 25 at the other end of the ice.

The two teams will battle again Saturday night. Puck drop is 7 p.m. in Rutherford Rink.
