CALGARY – The fourth place Dinos women's field hockey team is set to start the second half of their schedule with a significant challenge when they face off against the first place UBC Thunderbirds in Calgary this weekend.
The Dinos have had very little luck in Canada West this season, managing to go 1-4-1 in the first half of the season on a win against the University of Alberta and a tie against the University of Victoria.
The Thunderbirds, meanwhile, are rolling, coming into the weekend with a 5-1-0 record. Their only loss this year came last weekend when the University of Alberta Pandas won a 1-0 decision in Edmonton.
The last time these teams met the Dinos dropped both games in 3-0 shutouts.
The Dinos will be looking to goaltender
Stephanie Petrowitsch to repeat her shutout performance from Sunday's 0-0 tie in Victoria, while the Thunderbirds will be relying on Elsie Milosevich, their leading scorer, to turn the tide.
The teams will face off in a double header this weekend at Hawkings Field in Calgary. The matinees start at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
