SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan Huskies turned the tables and nabbed a 5-3 victory over the University of Calgary Dinos Saturday night in Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink.

BOX SCORE

A night earlier the Dinos took a 4-2 win with three first period goals.

The Huskies move to 7-4-1 on the season and remain in first place in the Canada West with four games in hand over the second place University of Alberta Golden Bears (6-2). The Dinos drop to third in the conference with a 5-3 record.

“We battled hard tonight and got the win,” said Huskie head coach Dave Adolph. “We have played well in our last four games and although we dropped two the hard work is paying off.”

Canada West leading scorer Steven DaSilva opened the scoring at 9:45 in the first period. The point was the first of three on the night for the rookie.

The teams traded a pair of goals each in the second period with Derek Endicott capitalizing on a Brett O'Malley hooking infraction.

Saskatchewan jumped to a 3-0 lead when Myles Zimmer scored at 7:54.

Calgary got on the board at 11:48 on the power play when O'Malley beat Huskie goalie Jeff Harvey. DaSilva was in the box for boarding. The Dinos added another to pull game within one at 3-2 courtesy of Torrie Wheat.

Calgary starting goaltender Jeff Weber had to be replaced by Friday night's starter Dustin Butler after Huskie Casey Lee got tangled up with him in the crease at 8:17 in the period. He left with a cut on his face.

Shaun Vey added the fourth Huskie goal at 8:02 in the third and DaSilva added another at 11:49 for a 5-2 lead. Calgary rookie Brock Nixon added the third goal for the Dinos with just 34 seconds left in the game.

Harvey made 21 saves for the Huskies, while Butler and Weber made a combined 32 saves for Calgary.

The Huskies travel to Vancouver to meet the UBC Thunderbirds next weekend, while Calgary returns home to host the University of Manitoba Bisons.
