Kelly Aspinall was the cream of the crop for the University of Calgary Dinos men's swimming team over the weekend, grabbing two Canada West records on his own and one more with his teammates as the Dinos destroyed the competition at the 2009 Canada West Swimming Championships in Victoria.

Aspinall, a 19-year-old native of Nanoose Bay, B.C., took individual gold in the 50-metre freestyle and the 50-metre backstroke. He added a third gold medal in the 100-metre freestyle, an event where the Dinos swept the podium.

Aspinall swam the opening leg of Calgary's record-breaking 400-metre freestyle relay team and added another medal, this one silver, in the 400-metre medley relay.

The Dinos now turn their attention to defending their national swimming title Feb. 19-21 at UBC in Vancouver.
