The Calgary Dinos men’s soccer team is quickly proving it’s a force to be reckoned with in Canada West this season, and fifth-year goalkeeper J.P. Crescenzi is right in the thick of things.
Over the weekend, Crescenzi sparkled as the Dinos didn’t allow a goal, shutting out both the No. 2 UBC Thunderbirds and the No. 7 Trinity Western Spartans at home.
In Saturday’s 1-0 upset of the Thunderbirds, Crescenzi stopped all eight shots that came his way in a sparkling defensive performance. The following day, he preserved the 0-0 draw against the Spartans to help the Dinos improve their record to 3-1-2, good enough for a third-place tie with Saskatchewan.
The Dinos hope to gain more ground in the standings this weekend as they play their annual home-and-home series with the 1-4-1 Lethbridge Pronghorns.
