CALGARY – Luis Rangel-Kataev of the University of Calgary Dinos has been named the Canada West BioSteel Athlete of the Week for men's soccer, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The first-year forward was clinical in front of goal last weekend, first opening the scoring in the second half of the Dinos fixture against the Saskatchewan Huskies. He went on to secure his brace, helping his team secure a 3-0 home win. Rangel-Kataev took this form into Sunday's fixture against Alberta, again opening the scoring at McMahon stadium in a 2-0 victory for his fourth goal of the campaign.

It marks the first Canada West BioSteel Athlete of the Week honour of his career, as the Dinos improve their record for the season 5-2. 

Calgary resume action at McMahon stadium this weekend, first against the Alberta Golden Bears on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a kick-off of 3:30 PM, before taking on Trinity Western University on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 6:00 PM.
