Dinos trio headed to Senior Pan-Am Championships next week

CALGARY – Three standout wrestlers from the University of Calgary Dinos, joined by lead assistant coach Carol Huynh, were selected by Wrestling Canada Lutte to head to the 2026 Senior Pan-Am Championships, May 7-10 in Coralville, Iowa.

Annika Fines was selected for the 62kg weight class. Fines is coming off an impressive third year on campus, successfully defending both her Canada West and U SPORTS gold medals. She was also named the 2026 U SPORTS Outstanding Wrestler of the Year for her dominating season.

Fines will be joined by a pair of recent Dinos graduates in Miki Rowbottom and Ellise Daynes. Daynes won a number of both conference and national medals at multiple weight classes in her time in the Scarlet & Gold and was selected for the 72kg weight class. Meanwhile, Rowbottom will compete at 65kg. The 2023 graduate was a standout on and off the mat, claiming three Canada West and one U SPORTS medal over her career.

The trio will also be coached by Huynh. The 2026 Canada West Coach of the Year has extensive experience both as a wrestler and a coach at the international level.
