CALGARY – A pair of University of Calgary Dinos have earned Canada West All-Star honours following the conclusion of the Rugby 7s season.
Bomi Lawal and
Makayla Joseph were both named Second Team All-Stars.
Lawal led the Dinos in scoring with eight tries during the 7s season. The third-year wing was named to the Canada West Dream Team after scoring three tries at the opening tournament. She added two tries at the second tournament and closed the season with another three-try performance last weekend.
Joseph recorded one try during the season, scoring in a win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Jan. 25. Her impact extended beyond the scoresheet, providing a strong presence off the ball and leadership for the Dinos.
The UBC Thunderbirds, who captured their fourth straight Canada West Rugby 7s title, led all teams with five all-star selections.
