Men's curling moves to 6-0 with three more convincing wins

EDMONTON – Behind three more convincing wins, the University of Calgary Dinos men's curling team moved to 6-0 through the first two days of competition at the 2026 Canada West Championships inside the Saville Centre Friday.

The Dinos are the lone unbeaten team remaining, sitting at 6-0 – one spot ahead of Alberta and Regina for the top spot with one more day of round robin action remaining.

Draw 4 – vs. UBCO
It was a bit of a slower start in Day 2 for the Dinos before ramping up and finishing with another lopsided win. Calgary used an empty first end before taking two in the second. The Heat got on the board with one in the third before the Dinos responded with five in the fourth. They stole another two in the fifth to start the day with a 9-1 win.

Draw 5 – vs. Thompson Rivers
The Dinos faced their first deficit of the tournament to start Draw 5 as Thompson Rivers opened with one in the first end. Last year's Cinderella couldn't slow down the Dinos however, as they responded with five in the second and one in the third for a commanding lead. After the WolfPack added another single in the fourth, Calgary tacked on three more in the fifth for the 9-2 victory.

Draw 6 – vs. Brandon
Calgary continued their domination in the night cap, taking down Brandon in six ends. The Dinos started with two in the first and one in the second. The Bobcats picked up one in the third to get on the board, only to see Calgary answer back with three in the fourth before tacking on singles in the fifth and sixth for an 8-1 win to move to 6-0 through two days of competition.

The Dinos have two more draws in round robin play on Saturday, starting with a showdown against host Alberta at 2 p.m. before a 7 p.m. finale against UBC.
