Dinos Football (2-1)
Friday, Sept. 19 | Calgary at UBC | Thunderbird Stadium | 7:00 PM MT | Watch | Live Stats
Fresh off a Battle-of-Alberta win, the 2-1 Calgary Dinos football team continues their road swing with a trip to Vancouver to take on UBC (1-2) Friday evening at 7 p.m. MT from Thunderbird Stadium.
Despite being without five opening-day starters, Calgary turned in an impressive 23-19 win in Edmonton last weekend. Without their top receiver and running back and trailing with just 3:30 left to play, the Dinos methodically moved the ball down the field and scored on an 18-yard burst from rookie back Eri Olarubofin to retake the lead for good with 52 seconds remaining. Now, with wins over Manitoba and Alberta, the Dinos are an overtime loss against No. 5 Regina away from a perfect start to this season.
A number of rookies have already played big roles for Calgary this season - arguably none bigger than running backs Eri Olarubofin and Jabreel Yahaya this past weekend. Olarubofin made his first start last weekend and ran wild for 155 yards on just 17 carries. Meanwhile, Yahaya dressed for his first U SPORTS game and didn't disappoint either, racking up 58 yards on the ground on just six attempts.
Friday's showdown is homecoming for UBC, which sits at 1-2 so far this season - opening with a 21-9 win at home against Manitoba before dropping games at Saskatchewan (51-14) and against Regina (37-20).
The Dinos and Thunderbirds battled twice last season - a 32-30 win for UBC on a last-second field goal back in September before a sloppy, rain-soaked affair in Vancouver in late October that saw the T-Birds finish on top, 21-5.
Dinos Men's Soccer (5-2)
Saturday, Sept. 20 | Calgary vs. UNBC | McMahon Stadium | 2:00 PM | Watch | Live Stats
Sunday, Sept. 21 | Calgary vs. Victoria | McMahon Stadium | 2:00 PM | Watch | Live Stats
After two resounding wins out west, the Dinos men's soccer team returns home with a 5-2 conference record to take on a pair of pacific division foes at McMahon Stadium. UNBC (3-3-1) comes to campus Saturday, before a big showdown with No. 8 Victoria (5-0-2) on Sunday. Both games are set to kickoff at 2 p.m.
Calgary exploded for a whopping 10 goals in two games in Interior BC last weekend, downing UBCO 6-1 on Friday before a 4-0 shutout win over Thompson Rivers on Saturday. That was just what the doctor ordered as the Dinos came into the season mighty banged up, allowing Calgary to play its depth extensively as only three players staying on the field for the full 90 minutes in both contests.
Efe Udolu-Joshua stole the headlines with a hat trick in Friday's contest at UBCO - doing so in the first 35 minutes of the game. In all, six different Dinos found the back of the net in the two lopsided wins as Calgary now leads the nation with 19 goals scored on the year.
The Dinos have historically done well against conference newcomer UNBC. In the six CW contests since 2012, the Dinos are 5-1, including a 6-2 win from Prince George a season ago. Meanwhile, Calgary has only faced off with Victoria one time in the last six years - a 3-0 loss from The Island back in 2023. In fact, the two powerhouse programs have only gone head to head four times in the last decade, with each team winning two. The Dinos' last win over the Vikes dates back to a Sept. 21 game in 2018 from Victoria.
Dinos Golf

Monday, Sept. 22 | Calgary at Calgary Invitational | Springbank Links Golf Club
After a strong first showing of the season down in Lethbridge, the Dinos golf teams host their annual home tournament this weekend with the two-day Calgary Invitational from Springbank Links Golf Club, starting Sunday.
The Dinos got off to a great start this past weekend, with the men's squad claiming the team win and the women finishing runner-up as a team at the Pronghorn Invitational down in Lethbridge. Sam McKeown brought was the individual silver medallist on the men's side after finishing as just one of two golfers on the weekend to finish under par. Meanwhile, rookie Brooke Tombs made quite the first impression on the women's side with a bronze medal for the Dinos women, finishing one stroke ahead of teammate Georgia Mackenzie.
Following this weekend's home tournament, Calgary heads to Edmonton for the UofA's annual invite Sept. 28-29 in the final action before the Canada West Championships, hosted this year UFV in Chilliwack, B.C. Oct. 20-21.
Dinos Women's Soccer (6-0)
Saturday, Sept. 20 | Calgary at Alberta | Foote Field | 12:00 PM | Watch | Live Stats
Sunday, Sept. 21 | Calgary at MacEwan | Clarke Stadium | 12:00 PM | Watch | Live Stats
The fourth-ranked Dinos women's soccer team (6-0-0) continues its four-game road swing with two games in Edmonton this weekend, starting Saturday against Alberta (3-1-2) before a Sunday showdown with MacEwan (4-2). Both games are set to kickoff at noon.
The Dinos turned in a weekend sweep in Lethbridge last time out, out-shooting the Pronghorns 27-1 on Saturday but settling for just a 1-0 win before the floodgates opened on Sunday in a 8-0 rout. Seven different players found the back of the net in the two games, to bring the Dinos goal total for the season to 22 - tied with UBC and Queen's for most in the nation.
Also notable from the weekend, Dinos goalkeeper Lauren Houghton officially made her return in net for the Scarlet & Gold. Playing for the first time since 2021, Houghton recorded shutouts in both wins over the 'Horns and now holds the Canada West record for most career shutouts with an incredible 35 over her four-plus seasons in net.
The two weekend wins also moves the Dinos to 6-0-0 on the year to remain undefeated. Calgary has had plenty of strong starts to seasons over the past 25 years, but only the 2016 squad also won their first six games over that span.
While the Dinos have already beaten both of this coming weekend's opponents in Calgary, the Edmonton trip has historically proven to be quite the bugaboo over the years. The Dinos have not walked away with six points from a weekend up north since 2021.
Dinos Cross Country
Saturday, Sept. 20 | Calgary at Kodiaks Open
The University of Calgary Dinos cross country team opens up the 2025 season this weekend with a trip to Lethbridge for the Kodiaks Open on Saturday. Racing is set to start at 1 p.m.

Four newcomers join this year's squad, which looks to continue to make strides at this year's Canada West Championships in Victoria Oct. 25.
Meanwhile, the Dinos men feature just one newcomer on this year's 10-man roster. Fourth-year runner Max Cook leads the way for this year's team, having earned Canada West honours both in 2022 and last season.
Following this week's action in Southern Alberta, the Dinos host the annual Stewart Cup Oct. 4 from Canmore Park.
Dinos Rugby (0-3)
Saturday, Sept. 20 | Calgary at Lethbridge | UofL Community Stadium | 7:00 PM | Watch
The Dinos will look to bounce back this weekend, traveling to Lethbridge to take on the Pronghorns for a 7 p.m. showdown from the University of Lethbridge Community Stadium on Saturday.
Calgary has gotten off to a tough start to the season. Despite a solid effort in the opener, the team sits at 0-3 on the year. Sporting one of the youngest rosters in the nation, head coach Simon Chi knew this year was going to have some learning moments and has seen plenty of growth already from his young squad.
With three games left in the regular season, the Dinos will look to continue to improve this weekend against a 0-1-1 team in Lethbridge. The Dinos and Pronghorns are deadlocked at 10-10-1 in the all-time regular season series.
