The University of Calgary Dinos Baseball team split a weekend home and home series with the Edmonton Collegiate Golden Hawks as the Dinos lost two games at home on Sunday, April 6. In Edmonton on Monday the Dinos swept the two games to remain .500 on the weekend.
Game 1 Summary.Dinos 5 Edmonton 16
Dinos give up a 5 - 4 lead in the game as they give up 12 runs in the final two innings to lose by a score of 16 - 5. Starting pitcher Ethan Webster is removed from the game after two innings due to a lineup error. In his two innings Webster gave up no runs, surrendering two hits with two strikeouts. Dinos go through five relief pitchers the rest of the game.
Second baseman Nathan Varjassy goes 3 for 4 at the plate with a walk, scoring two runs and one RBI to lead Dinos offensively.

Game 2 Summary Dinos 6 and Edmonton 11
Dinos again give up a late loss as they surrender seven runs in the final two innings to lose by a score of 11 - 6. Dinos starter Jaydon Wielders goes 5 innings giving up four runs on six hits, striking out three. 
First baseman Ryan Kennedy hits his first home-run of the season as he goes 1 for 2 at the plate with two runs scored and three RBI. Catcher Ben Franz goes 4 for 5 at the plate to lead the Dinos.

Game 3 Summary Dinos 1 and Edmonton 0
Starting pitcher Riley Burns gets his first win of the 2025 season as he pitches a gem throwing a complete game shutout, surrendering four hits and two walks with three strikeouts over nine innings. Centre fielder Aiden Szautner cashes in the lone Dinos run in the third inning as he cashes in his third RBI in the season. 

Game 4 Summary Dinos 6 and Edmonton 3
Dinos split the weekend series as starting pitcher Brady Fehlauer picks up his first win of the season as he goes five innings giving up two earned runs on five hits and four walks with two strikeouts. Alex Lanigan picks up his second save of the season.
Offensively the Dinos collect ten hits as third baseman BrendanTong goes 3 for 5 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI. First baseman Brett Potter goes 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI to pace the Dinos.

Dinos host VIU Mariners in a four game weekend series with a double header on Saturday April 12, game times Noon and 3pm
Sunday game times are 10am and 1pm.
