Offence erupts in 6-0 shutout win for Calgary

LANGLEY, B.C. – Six different Dinos found the back of the net as the University of Calgary Dinos men's hockey team racked up its sixth win in a row to the tune of a 6-0 road victory over Trinity Western Friday night from the Langley Events Centre.

Calgary lit the lamp four times in an eight-minute span in the first period to quickly put this one to bed, improving to 11-2 on the year. TWU drops to 1-9-1 in conference play.

Adam Kydd – the nation's leading point scorer – started things off in this one with a one-timer goal 10:26 into the first to get the Dinos on the board.

The floodgates opened from there, with Mack Stewart, Tre Fouquette and Gavin Schmidt all also scoring while still in the first to quickly make it 4-0 after one.

Reigning Canada West Player of the Week Connor Horning continued his run of strong play with a long-range wrister that made it through a sea of bodies and into the back of the net less than five minutes into the second to make it 5-0.

Rookie Hayden Pakkala potted his seventh of the season in the third to close out the scoring in this one.

Kydd finished the night with one goal and three assists to run his point total to 27.

Carl Stankowski stopped all 22 shots he faced for his second shutout of the year.

The two teams are right back at it Saturday with an 8 p.m. MT drop from the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre.
