Dinos capture silver medal

Dinos Fastball Capture Silver at 2025 WCSA Championships for their 15 straight league championship medal.

In the first game of the round robin on Saturday the Dinos easily dispatched Mount Royal University 14-7.
Dinos were the first to get on the board in the first when Brooklyn Bianchini hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. They than  scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Mia Pielak hit a solo home run to left field, Katie Berg singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Bianchini singled, scoring one run, and Angelina Hargreaves doubled, scoring two runs.
The Dinos added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Olivia Goertz singled to center field, Emily Friedt singled down the left field line, Manyika Reyes grounded into a fielder's choice, Hargreaves singled to center field, and Chloe Kinghorn lined into a double play, each scoring one run.
Pielak earned the win, the righty gave up five hits and seven runs (two earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Anna Forbes pitched one and one-third innings of scoreless ball for University of Calgary in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one.
The team tallied 13 hits in the game. Bianchini, Hargreaves, Friedt, Berg, and Goertz each collected two hits, Hargreaves and Friedt each drove in three runs for the Dinos who had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
 
University of Calgary Defeats University of Regina On Back Of Clutch Display From Angelina Hargreaves
Angelina Hargreaves drove in five runs on two hits to lead University of Calgary past University of Regina 12-5 on Saturday in the 2nd round robin game.  Hargreaves hit a grand slam to center field in the first inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring one. The grand slam gave the Dinos a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first. The Dinos added one run in the third after Olivia Goertz doubled down the right field line.
The team than scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Manyika Reyes doubled, scoring two runs, Brooklyn Bianchini singled, scoring one run, and Hargreaves singled, scoring one run.
Kate Gross earned the win, the hurler allowed eight hits and five runs (three earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one. Alexis Luttmerding appeared in relief for University of Calgary.
The Dinos amassed 16 hits in the game. Bianchini and Mia Pielak each collected three hits for the team. Reyes, Emily Friedt, and Mackenna Meyer each collected multiple hits for University of Calgary.
 
 University of Calgary Falls To University of Lethbridge
 In a mean nothing game the University of Calgary could not keep up with University of Lethbridge 9-5 in the final game of the round robin. The Dinos already secured 1st place in their pool by winning their 2 previous games. The Dinos got on the board in the top of the first inning after Angelina Hargreaves singled down the right field line, and Madison Belden grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.
They than took the lead in the top of the third inning after Hargreaves singled up the middle, and Belden singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, University of Lethbridge went back into the lead after Devyn Rice singled to the right side of the infield, Molly Conrad walked, Malia Van Doren walked, Cadence Penner walked, and University of Lethbridge scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Alexis Luttmerding took the loss for the Dinos, the lefty went one inning, giving up five runs on three hits.  Belden stepped in the circle first for the Dinos, The starter allowed nine hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out six and walking none.
Hargreaves drove the middle of the lineup, leading University of Calgary with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Hargreaves, Emily Friedt, and Belden each collected two hits.  Katie Berg stole two bases. The team stole three bases in the game and were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
 
University of Calgary Defeats University of Saskatchewan On Back Of Clutch Display From Angelina Hargreaves
 Angelina Hargreaves drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Dinos past University of Saskatchewan 8-6 in the semi-final game. Hargreaves hit a home run to left field in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the second inning, scoring one.
The Dinos got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brooklyn Bianchini singled, scoring one run, and Hargreaves homered to left field, scoring three runs. They than added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning on three hits. Manyika Reyes homered to left field, scoring two runs, Hargreaves singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
Mia Pielak earned the win, the righty allowed eight hits and six runs over five and one-third innings.
Bianchini went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Reyes collected two hits for the Dinos in three at bats. Katie Berg stole three bases. The team worked the count all day, collecting four walks. Dinos ran wild on the base paths, amassing three stolen bases for the game.
 
UBCO Defeat University of Calgary Behind Steady Offensive Production
UBCO kept adding on runs in a 6-0 victory over University of Calgary In Sunday's gold medal game.
 Madison Belden took the loss for the Dinos,  The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking two.
The Dinos bats couldn't get going in the game, however Emily Friedt and Chloe Kinghorn each collected two hits for the team.
 
"Not the ending we were hoping for" said head coach Neal Harlos. "But I'm very proud of the team and the way they played this weekend, the hitting and the defense was strong. Not only did we win silver for our 15th  straight conference medal, we earned a birth to the 2026 CCSA national championships." We have really come together as a team these past couple of weeks and our wins have been a total team effort."

Dinos now prepare for the CCSA national championships October 10 & 11 - Shouldice Park
