Dinos baseball headed up the QE2 on Friday for an afternoon double header against the Edmonton Collegiate River Hawks. Dinos performance in the first game is suspect as bus lag may be a contributing factor to the team's slow start. Starting pitcher
Brady Fehlauer takes the loss as the Dinos commit five errors in the game and only manage five hits as they drop the game by a score of 8 - 1.
Fehlauer goes a total of five innings giving up six runs (four earned). Offensively Dinos offensive highlights as
Aiden Szautner goes three for four at the plate as he continues to hit for average, with a .361 BA for the season.
Cale Yuzdepski with the lone Dinos RBI in the game.
The second game of the double header saw the Dinos with a better team effort as they take the game by a score of 3 - 2 to earn the split on the day and make the bus ride home all that more enjoyable. Starter Riley Burns pitches six strong innings, but gets a no decision as he leaves the game in a tie game situation. Keelor Loveridge breaks the tie game in the seventh inning as he hits a solo homerun, his first as a Dino.
Alex Lanigan pitches three innings of shutout ball to earn the victory and his third win of the season. Dinos play better in the field as they do not commit an error.
