CALGARY – The University of Calgary women's basketball team secured yet another 2-0 conference weekend with a 110-31 win over the Thompson Rivers WolfPack Saturday evening at the Jack Simpson Gym.
With this win the No. 5 Dinos stay right near the top of the very crowded table in Canada West with an 11-3 record. The shorthanded WolfPack fall to 2-8 with the loss.
The Dinos saw five players reach double digits in points, with
Louise Rouse leading the way a double-double off the bench, finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Myriam Kone was second in the scoring column with 17, and
Mya Proctor tallied 15 as the top scorers.
Rookie Sydney Vollrath amassed a career-high 14 points in just her second career start, going 6-10 from the floor, including 2-4 from behind the arc.
"One of the most important things to me is staying strong on defense and contributing how I can on offense," Dinos player of the game
Kourtney Oss said. "Our looks and reads have been really good this week, contributing to our steals. We want to run motion and keep the ball moving as a team."
Up next, the Dinos continue their six-game home stand by welcoming the Trinity Western University Spartans to the Jack Simpson Gym next weekend for a pair.
Meanwhile, the WolfPack will travel to Kelowna to faceoff against the UBCO Heat in two early afternoon games.
