CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's basketball team is set for postseason play as they open the Canada West Tournament by playing the Victoria Vikes in a second-round game scheduled for 1 p.m. inside the Jack Simpson Gym.
This year's playoffs have a completely new look, with all 17 teams in Canada West playing in a knock-out tournament.
PLAYING HOSTS
The Dinos will serve as co-hosts to this year's new playoff format, joined by Mount Royal and Lethbridge. A total of 10 games will be played inside the Jack Simpson Gym between the men's and women's tournaments, including both of the first games of the tournament for Calgary.
All games will be streamed live on Canada West TV, presented by Co-Op.
REGULAR-SEASON REWIND
Calgary wrapped up the 2021-22 regular season with a 7-9 record. The Dinos got off to a strong start to the year, winning three of their first four and six of their first nine before injuries took a big toll on one of the youngest squads in the country.

Annacy Palmer is the lone player to start every game this season for the Dinos and leads the team with 12.3 points per game. Meanwhile, teammate and Edinburgh, UK native Pollyanny Storie ranks second on the team with 10.0 points per game.
FIRST UP
Calgary's playoff opener will come against Victoria – a team the Dinos have plenty of history with dating all the way back to the early days of both schools. The Dinos have had the edge in the series of late, sweeping both weekend series in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons – both taking place in Calgary.
The winner of Saturday's showdown will go up against reigning Canada West and U SPORTS Champion Saskatchewan. That game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., again inside The Jack.
UP NEXT
After the busy three days of action, the CW playoffs will take a week off before resuming with the semifinals and final, March 18-19.
