Dinos face test against undefeated Huskies

| By:
CALGARY – The University of Calgary men's hockey team continues its extended homestand this weekend as the Dinos lace up against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies for their final home games before the winter break.

Puck drop on Friday will be 7 p.m., and Saturday at 6 p.m., with both games taking place inside Father David Bauer Arena.

FISU BOUND
A total of five delegates from UCalgary will head to Lucerne, Switzerland for the FISU Winter Universiade, U SPORTS announced Tuesday. Among them are three members of the Dinos men's hockey team: head coach Mark Howell, defenceman Ryan Gagnon, and forward Ryan Graham. The Opening Ceremonies of the 2021 FISU World University Games will be held on Dec. 11.

VETERAN AND ROOKIE PRESENCE
A mix of rookie and veteran presence has been key for the Dinos so far this season. First-year forward Riley Stotts is the points leader for the Dinos (5g, 6a), and he is also in the top three for points in Canada West. Fourth-year captain Ryan Gagnon is second in points for the Dinos (8a) and is tied for first place in Canada West for assist leaders.

TWO BIG POINTS
Only two points separate the first-place Huskies from the fourth-place Dinos. While the Huskies have played two fewer games, wins this weekend could leapfrog the Dinos ahead of Saskatchewan in the standings as the end of the first half of the season quickly approaches.
