Dinos resume play against local rival

| By:
CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos will return to the ice this weekend to faceoff against crosstown rival Mount Royal University Cougars.

Puck drop will be at 7 p.m. on Friday at Flames Community Arenas, with the second game scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Father David Bauer Arena.

EARLY HOMESTAND
The Dinos will be able to enjoy their home ice quite a bit over the next month. With the weekend series against Mount Royal both taking place in town, the Dinos don't have a scheduled road contest for nearly a month, with five straight games inside Father David Bauer Arena. Calgary only has three scheduled road games between now and late January.

MACEWAN MATCHUP POSTPONED
The Dinos weekend series against the MacEwan Griffins was postponed to a later date after several players on the Griffins were exposed to COVID-19.

OPENING WEEKEND
The Dinos came out strong for their opening game against the Manitoba Bisons, winning the opening game, 5-2. The rematch, however, went in favour of the Bisons, topping Calgary, 4-1. Dinos head coach Mark Howell mentioned after the game the importance of finding consistency in their play.

ROOKIES SHINE EARLY
Calgary's rookie performances were a highlight of their opening weekend, as five of the first-year players combined for a total of seven points in their first action with the Dinos. Three of those rookies, Connor Gutenberg, Riley Stotts, and Zach Wytinck are tied for the team lead with two points in as many contests.
