CALGARY –The University of Calgary Dinos will close out their regular season with a home and home battle against Lethbridge Pronghorns this weekend.
The first game will take place on Friday Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Father David Bauer Arena, with the rematch and final game on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Nicholas Sheran Arena in Lethbridge.
LAST WEEKEND
Despite two hard fought games last week in the Crowchild Classic series, the Dinos saw themselves on the wrong end of 5-4 (2OT) and 3-1 decisions. These losses dropped the Dinos down to fourth place in Canada West, one point behind the Mount Royal Cougars.
SEASON IN REVIEW
The Dinos had lost key components to their team after the conclusion of last season yet managed to have a successful season that saw other players step up to the plate and take on more responsibility.
Matt Alfaro was named Canada West's top performer of the first half of the season. The Dinos spent most of the 2019-20 season fighting a tight battle with the Alberta Golden Bears and the Saskatchewan Huskies as the top three teams in Canada West.
PLAYOFF EXPECTATIONS
The Dinos will be hosting a best-of-three quarter-final, but who they will face is not yet determined. The Dinos have a chance of finishing third, meaning they will face off against the sixth place team. As the standings are right now the Dinos will face off against the fifth-place Manitoba Bisons. The results of several games this weekend will determine the matchup.
