Pivotal weekend as Dinos host Huskies

| By:
CALGARY – After splitting last weekend with the Manitoba Bisons, the University of Calgary Dinos will host the Saskatchewan Huskies in an important match-up this weekend at Father David Bauer Arena.

Puck drop will be on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m., with the second game of the series scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.

STREAK ENDS
The Dinos saw their eight-game win streak end last weekend against the University of Manitoba Bisons after splitting the weekend. The loss dropped the Dinos from second in the standings to third in Canada West.

PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS
Only four points separate the top three teams in a tight playoff race in Canada West. The Saskatchewan Huskies hold second place in the standings with 30 points, while the Dinos are in third also with 30 points. These two games are going to be extremely important and hard-fought, with both teams looking to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
In the last dozen years, the Dinos and Huskies have split wins evenly 39-39, however recently the stats have favoured the Huskies. Calgary is 3-7 in the 10 meetings, including a split weekend the last time these two teams met back in October in Saskatoon.
